How GutCall works
Pick a challenge, stake fictional coins on the outcome you believe in, and win from the pool when you're right. No money, no cash-out — just rankings, receipts, and bragging rights.
What is GutCall?
GutCall is a free-to-play social prediction game. Players stake fictional in-game coins on the outcome of real-world events — sports, tech, crypto, pop culture — and earn coins from the shared pool when their call is right. Coins have no monetary value, cannot be cashed out, and cannot be exchanged for prizes; what you win is rank, streaks, and cosmetics for your character.
Every challenge is a concrete, falsifiable question with a deadline: "Do Williams & Alcaraz win their opening match?", "Does the next iPhone ship with a new port?". Each names its resolution source up front, so there's never an argument about what counts.
When a challenge resolves, the pool of staked coins is split among everyone who called it right, proportional to their stake. The fewer people on your side, the more each winner takes — reading the room wrong is exactly how you profit.
A challenge, start to finish
1 · Find your challenge
Browse the lobby: trending picks, last-call countdowns, and category shelves from football to AI labs.
2 · Stake your coins
Pick a side and choose how many coins to put behind it. The live pool split shows the current odds and your projected return.
3 · Defend your call
Every challenge has a live thread. Post your reasoning, dunk respectfully, and keep the receipts for later.
4 · Resolution
When the real-world outcome lands, the challenge resolves against its named public source — automatically for most sports and market data.
5 · Collect and climb
Winners split the pool proportionally to their stakes. XP, streaks and season rankings update the moment the result is in.
Closed loop, always
Coins are fictional. No cash value, no cash-out, no prizes with real-world value. That's what keeps GutCall a game.
How GutCall works — FAQ
Is GutCall gambling?
No. Coins are fictional in-game points with no monetary value. They can't be bought back, cashed out, transferred, or redeemed for anything outside the game. You can never lose or win real money on GutCall.
How are winnings calculated?
GutCall uses a shared-pool (parimutuel) model: every coin staked on a challenge goes into one pool, and when it resolves, the pool is split among the players who picked the right outcome, proportional to how much each staked. Backing an unpopular-but-correct side earns more per coin.
Who decides the outcome of a challenge?
Each challenge names its resolution source before anyone stakes. Sports and market challenges resolve automatically from public data feeds; others are resolved with an AI-assisted check plus human review. Contested results go through a dispute process.
What do I actually win?
Coins (for future challenges), XP and levels, streaks, season rankings, and cosmetics for your character — outfits, frames, titles, auras. Everything stays in the game; nothing converts to money.
How much does it cost to play?
Nothing. Signup grants starter coins, and daily and weekly claims keep you stocked. Optional plans and coin packs exist for players who want more to play with — but coins never turn back into money, whichever way they were earned.
Can I create my own challenges?
Yes — paid plans unlock the authoring suite, with templates that require a clear question, a deadline, and a public resolution source, so every player-authored challenge stays fair and auditable.
