The basics
- The basics
What is GutCall?
GutCall is a social prediction game. Stake virtual coins on real-world outcomes, watch the odds move live, drop your takes in the chat, and climb the seasonal leaderboards. The coins are fictional. The bragging rights are not.
- The basics
Is this gambling?
No. You play with GutCall coins, a fictional in-game currency with no cash value that can never be cashed out or converted to anything outside the game. There is no money on the line, ever. You play for rank, in-game rewards, and the receipts.
- The basics
How old do I need to be?
18 or older, everywhere. We ask for your date of birth at signup and the service is closed to minors.
- The basics
Which languages does GutCall speak?
English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese. Switch any time from your account preferences.
Playing & staking
- Playing & staking
How does staking work?
Every challenge has a pool. Pick a side, choose your stake, and your coins join that side of the pool. The percentages you see are live pool shares, so every stake moves the odds for everyone watching. You can exit early if plans change; see the early-exit answer below.
- Playing & staking
How are payouts calculated?
When a challenge resolves, the whole pool pays the winning side. Your cut is proportional to your share of the winning side's total: stake more, win more. The multiplier shown before you confirm is the live projection based on the pool at that moment.
- Playing & staking
Can I exit a stake early?
Yes. You can sell a stake back any time until 24 hours before the event for a 10% fee, and the rest of your coins return to your wallet instantly. Inside that final 24-hour window your stake rides to resolution.
- Playing & staking
What happens if a challenge is voided?
Every stake comes back in full, automatically. Challenges get voided when an event is cancelled or an outcome can't be settled fairly. Nobody wins, nobody loses, everyone is refunded.
- Playing & staking
When do challenges lock?
Every challenge shows its close time upfront. At that moment staking and selling stop and the challenge waits for its result. Closed is not resolved: payouts land only after the outcome is confirmed, which can take a moment for late-finishing events.
Challenges & results
- Challenges & results
Who creates the challenges?
Our editorial team curates the board daily across news, sports, markets, and pop culture. AI helps draft candidates, but a human reviews and approves every challenge before it goes live. Community authoring tools are rolling out gradually alongside the plan quotas.
- Challenges & results
How are results decided?
Every challenge publishes its resolution rules and source before you stake, so you know exactly what counts. Most sports and market outcomes settle automatically from official data. The rest are proposed with AI assistance and confirmed by a human. Ambiguous outcomes get extended or voided rather than guessed.
- Challenges & results
Can I suggest a challenge topic?
Yes, and it pays. Pitch a topic from the challenges page. If our team turns it into a live challenge, you get a 2,500-coin bounty and a notification the moment it ships.
- Challenges & results
What if I disagree with a result?
Use Report on the challenge or write to support@gutcall.co. Every result traces back to the stated rules and source. If a resolution is genuinely wrong we fix it, and where a fair call is impossible we void the challenge and refund every stake.
Coins
- Coins
Are GutCall coins real money?
No. Coins are a fictional in-game currency: no cash value, no cashout, no converting them to anything outside the game, ever. That is the deal that keeps GutCall a game. Inside the game they do everything: stakes, cosmetics, marketplace trades.
- Coins
How do I earn coins without paying?
Plenty of ways. The welcome bonus at signup, the daily claim (every plan, bigger on paid tiers), the weekly claim on paid plans, winning challenges you predicted on, seasonal leaderboard prizes, and the 2,500-coin bounty for accepted challenge suggestions.
- Coins
How do coin packs work?
Pick a pack, check out through Stripe, and the coins land in your wallet instantly. Coins have no cash value and pack purchases are final; we show that clearly before you pay. If a charge fails or doubles, that is on us to fix: email support with "billing" in the subject.
- Coins
Do I lose coins if I downgrade or cancel?
Never. Coins you have earned or bought stay in your wallet, whatever happens to your plan. Only the recurring perks change: your daily and weekly claims drop to the new tier's amounts from the next claim onward.
Character & store
- Character & store
How does my character work?
Face, body type, skin tone, and eye color are free for every player; change them whenever you like. Outfits, hair, and accessories are collectible items: grab them with coins in the store, earn them through plans and rewards, or buy them from other players on the marketplace.
- Character & store
What are the marketplace rules?
The marketplace is player to player and settles in coins only. Sellers list an item, buyers pay the listed price, and a 10% fee is burned to keep the economy healthy. Accounts must be at least 7 days old to sell, and off-platform deals are against the rules.
Seasons & rankings
- Seasons & rankings
What do seasons and leaderboards pay?
Each season has a real coin prize pool split across the top final ranks, and the exact payout per rank is listed on the rankings page all season long. Boards run per season and all time, so every new season is a fresh shot at the podium.
- Seasons & rankings
How do XP and levels work?
Playing earns XP: staking, winning, streaks, showing up. Levels are your long-term flex and unlock rewards along the way. Paid plans multiply every XP gain: 1.25× on Basic, 1.5× on Creator, 2× on Pro.
Plans
- Plans
What's the difference between Basic, Creator, and Pro?
All paid plans boost your daily and weekly coin claims and your XP. Basic ($5) is the everyday boost: 150 coins daily, 350 weekly, 1.25× XP, up to 5 private leagues. Creator ($20) steps up to 500 daily, 2,100 weekly, 1.5× XP, 25 leagues, premium profile themes, and creator tools. Pro ($50) maxes out at 1,000 daily, 7,000 weekly, 2× XP, 100 leagues, featured placement, and priority support.
- Plans
Can I switch plans mid-cycle?
Yes. Upgrades apply immediately, so the bigger claims start the same day. Downgrades wait until the end of the period you already paid for, then switch automatically. Nothing you paid for is cut short.
- Plans
Are there team or family plans?
Not yet. Every plan is per player today. If your crew wants one, tell support and you'll be first in line when a team tier lands.
- Plans
Do creators earn real money?
No. GutCall is a closed-loop game: coins never convert to cash, for anyone. Creators earn inside the game instead: coin bounties for accepted challenge suggestions, seasonal prizes, and plan perks like premium themes and featured placement.
Billing & refunds
- Billing & refunds
How does billing work?
Choose monthly or yearly at checkout and Stripe charges your card upfront for the full period. Plans renew automatically until you cancel, and yearly billing works out cheaper overall.
- Billing & refunds
Which payment methods do you accept?
Checkout runs on Stripe, so all major credit and debit cards work, plus the wallet buttons your device offers, like Apple Pay and Google Pay where available.
- Billing & refunds
Will I get a receipt?
Every successful charge emails you a Stripe receipt with the full breakdown automatically. Need a copy later? Support can resend any receipt.
- Billing & refunds
Which currency will I be charged in?
The price you confirm at checkout is the price you pay. Stripe processes the charge; if your card runs in another currency, your bank converts at its own rate and the exact amount shows on your statement.
- Billing & refunds
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, in a couple of clicks from your account, with no fees and no contracts. You keep every paid perk until the end of the period you already paid for, then drop back to Free with your coins intact.
- Billing & refunds
Do you offer refunds?
Coin packs are delivered instantly and are non-refundable, except where consumer law says otherwise: in Brazil you have the statutory 7-day withdrawal right on online purchases. Subscriptions are not refunded mid-period; cancelling stops the next renewal. Billing gone wrong, like a double charge, is always on us: email support@gutcall.co.
Account & safety
- Account & safety
How do private leagues work?
Private leagues are your crew's corner of GutCall: a shared chat, invites with roles, and a members-only performance ranking. Joining one with an invite is free for everyone. Creating your own takes a paid plan: 5 on Basic, 25 on Creator, 100 on Pro.
- Account & safety
What privacy controls do I get?
From your preferences you can opt out of analytics, marketing, and the sale or sharing of your data, and manage cookie consent. Data requests like export or deletion go to privacy@gutcall.co, and the privacy policy spells out the timelines.
- Account & safety
