What this covers
This Privacy Policy describes what we collect when you use GutCall, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it.
Data we collect
Account data (email, username, password hash, language). Profile content (display name, bio, character, equipped cosmetics). Activity (challenges created, predictions made, coin transactions, comments). Device + connection metadata (IP, user-agent) for abuse prevention and rate-limiting. We don't collect payment-card data. Stripe handles that on our behalf.
Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies for authentication (session refresh) and theme preference. We don't run third-party advertising trackers. Analytics, when configured, is privacy-respecting (PostHog) and we honour Do Not Track on the platform side.
Who we share data with
Only service providers necessary to run GutCall: Stripe (billing), Postmark/SendGrid (transactional email, when configured), our cloud provider (hosting + backups). We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers. Public profile fields (username, display name, character, equipped cosmetics, lifetime ranking stats) are visible to other users by design.
How long we keep data
Account data is kept while the account is active. After deletion: identifying fields are scrubbed within 30 days, but coin-ledger and audit-log entries are retained indefinitely (in anonymised form) because they're load-bearing for the platform's economy invariants.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, correction of inaccuracies, or deletion at any time. EU/UK residents have additional rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection). Contact us at the address below to exercise them.
Minors
GutCall is not directed at children under 13 (under 16 in the EEA). We don't knowingly collect data from minors below that threshold. If you believe a minor has signed up, contact us and we'll delete the account.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email; the last-updated date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
