What this covers
This page explains the cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage) GutCall uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. For broader privacy information, see our Privacy Policy.
Strictly necessary
Authentication cookies hold a refresh-token reference so signed-in sessions survive a page reload. A small CSRF token guards against forgery on form submissions. These cookies are required for the product to function and cannot be disabled.
Preference
We persist a small set of preferences in local storage so the experience picks up where you left off: current theme (dark / light / system), preferred locale, and dismissible UI flags (e.g., onboarding tooltips you've already closed).
Analytics
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which features are used and where flows break. It sets the _ga and _ga_* cookies (kept for up to 2 years) and only loads after you accept the analytics category in the cookie banner. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. Under the same consent, Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used (taps, scrolls, heatmaps and session replays) to find where the product is confusing. Typed text and your coin balance are masked before anything leaves your browser, recordings are tied to an opaque account id rather than your name or email, and Microsoft keeps them for up to 30 days. It sets the _clck and _clsk cookies. We honour Do Not Track signals, and you can switch analytics off from your account preferences or by changing your cookie choice at any time.
Your controls
You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will sign you out and reset preferences. Opting out of analytics is available from the privacy section of your account preferences.
